Carefully chosen pieces of furniture contribute to a sense of refined simplicity. In the lounge, high picture windows frame a Pecan Nut orchard and the towering peaks of the Langeberg Mountains that rise up spectacularly behind it.

Before dinner, guests may sample some of the wines from Jan Harmsgat's extensive wine cellar. The gourmet meals at Jan Harmsgat are the perfect ending after a day of enjoyment. The entire kitchen staff is experienced, and guests with special dietary requirements will notice that they are specially provided for.

Accommodation is in three beautiful seperate buildings. The Original Wine Cellar (main house), The Slave Quarters and Van Eeden House. Each has its own unique history and style.

The Slave Quarters (Standard Rooms)

The Slave Quarter is an original Cape Dutch Style building dating back to 1723. It has been restored with a beautiful thatched roof, with interior design combining an authentic historical atmosphere with contemporary comforts. There are two communal lounges, honor bar, and a private courtyard overlooking the orchard and salt-water pool. The four rooms are fitted respectively with queen and king size beds, air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, underfloor heating with stunning mountain and sunset vistas.

Wine Cellar

This fascinating building has been lovingly restored to its original glory and still houses an impressive wine collection. This was the original wine cellar, still complete with it's meter-thick walls, thatch roof and original doors. This is an exclusive retreat for honeymooners. The honeymoon suite has a private staircase leading to spectacular views of mountains and the pecan orchard. From the balcony you can enjoy teh scenic sunsets from a comfortable chase. The suite is complete with king size bed, air conditioning, Victorian bath, separate shower, toilet and bidet as well as a fully socked mini bar.

Van Eeden House (Luxury)

This beautiful house was built during the 1800's. Van Edden House is adjacent to the main building, with newly built suites with own private entrances. The fittings and design are top of the line complimented with plush furnishings. Each of the 5 rooms pampers you with luxurious king size beds, fine linen, under floor heating and air conditioning. For those who require more space, room Nine is open plan with own fireplace and private veranda.
